Greetings from Ireland! I want to report that Kevin Clancy after lying in a coma for six weeks has recovered conciousness and is slowly but surely making the journey back to full health. We thank God through the intercesion of Catherine for his recovery. His family are very grateful to the sisters for their prayer for Kevin.

Your prayers are now asked for Nora Ward from Walsall, England. Nora has cancer of the brain and I know the Sisters and their associates will pray for Nora and ask that through Venerable Catherine's intercession she may recover.

Sr. Mary Healy, Connecticut, asks for prayer for her niece. Janice is suffering from an inoperable, cancerous brain tumor. Once again, let us ask Venerable Catherine to intercede with our loving Father for her.

April 11, 2005

Geraldine Carlotta has been diagnosed with brain tumor and has been given 6 weeks - 6 months to live.

Prayers are also requested for a young father named Brad who has agressive Hodgkins and is awaiting a stemcell transplant. He is very concerned that he may not live to see his young daughter grow up.

Update: Mark Prest has gone home to the Father RIP.

March 28, 2005

Update: Results of March 18 scan show that liver tumors are just barely perceptible; scan on bones was negative. Sherry is now almost free of cancer. She will have an MRI of her brain. Your prayers have done the work so far. Keep them going up for complete remission. The family appreciates it more than can be said with words. Sherry is overjoyed ...the doctors are gratified having told her just one year ago in May that she would expire in three months as there was nothing they could do. Along came the Sisters of Mercy and their founder in heaven!
It is a glorious Holy Week... such good news!

Daniel Monroe's parents report that his tumour has shrunk. His weight has increased and he is full of energy and his life is not curtailed in any way.

Chloe Van Aken from Albany, New York asks prayers for Sr. Margaret Straney who was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer four years ago. She had a surgical procedure called a Whipple. Post surgery she has had radiation and is now in her third round of chemotherapy. 'Out of God's deepest mercy, a new dawn'.

March 21, 2005

The prayers of all Sisters of Mercy, Associates and friends are requested for Kevin Clancy, Co. Cork, Ireland, who underwent surgery for an aneurysm in his stomach and subsequently contracted the MRSA bug. Kevin is now in a coma and his family and friends have real concern for him. Together let us pray that Venerable Catherine will intercede for him and restore him to good health.

March 08, 2005

Prayers are also requested by Sr. Theresa Blaquiere RSM, Detroit for a friend of hers, who is 47 and has been diagnosed with gall bladder cancer, which has spread to the liver and abdominal cavity. She is at Stage 4 and surgery is contra indicated. May Catherine listen to us, hear our prayer and act in compassion and love as is her way.

I ask the prayers of the Mercy Family to beg Catherine to intercede with the compassionate Father for the healing of Mark Prest. Mark had been teaching at Mount Lilydale Mercy College, Victoria, Australia and he was so loved by the teachers and students that they are longing for his return. Mark is extremely ill from cancer which has manifested itself in multiple forms but his school principal and the school family are really trusting in Catherine to work her signs and wonders for and through him. Mark has great devotion to Catherine and is loud in his enthusiasm for her heritage and legacy through Mercy Education.

Update: The news from Sherry Ciabattoni continues to be good. Her last CT in January showed the tumors in her brain had shrunk. The breast tumor has disappeared; the liver tumors are shrinking and there are no new ones; lungs and bones are clear. She continues to gain strength and works a couple of hours in the hospital. The final lines of the letter read as follows: 'Thanks to the prayers Sherry continues on this great path. Thank you, thank you, thank you.... you will be pleased with this I am sure ... and please continue your bombarding the heavens!!!

I also ask for prayer for Monique who is 38 years old. She has had three miscarriages and has just learned in December that she is pregnant. But this month she was diagnosed with an agressive leukemia. She wanted to delay treatment to allow the baby to be born, but the doctor informed her she would not live more than several months with chemotherapy. They did start the treatment and the baby is now dead in her womb. She is devastated at this but she also needs a donortem transplant, and the chances of finding one are nearly zero. Monique is half Cherokee and half Scandinavian and matches in the donor registry for someone like that are so rare as to be non existent. I ask urgent intercession of Venerable for her.

December 27, 2004

Sr Theresa M. DuRapau from the St. Louis Regional Community, had surgery for colon cancer which has spread to the liver and lungs. She totally believes that God can cure her through Catherine's intercession.

Sherry Ciabattoni. Sherry's cancer has metastasized to her brain. Her breast cancer has disappeared and liver enzymes remain normal. Let us redouble our prayers for her.
